I remember growing up in a small town that had very few people and one real place of employment which most of my family at one time or another had worked there. This town had no grocery stores, or restaurants - just a beer joint right on the highway. And although I was under age, my friends and I would head there on a hot summer Friday afternoon to drink Mountain Dew - the carbonated kind. We would relax, talk about the weekend or whatever. Sometimes I long for those days. Not to live in that small town, but for the values it shared... hard work, good friends, a sense of trust.
That has all seemed to be lost now. We now have the guilty until proven otherwise mentality. Unfortunately because I tend to trust people more than I should when I first meet them, but I know one thing is for sure-I've not met a single politician, but that is a person that can't be trusted. The government screws up most of the things they get their hand on! Oh and this may come as a shock to you, but how many times has given back control of things that it's had it's claw on-that would be none! Where is the common sense that is needed?! The government wants us to buy cars that are greener to reduce the greenhouse effect (which is nonsense), yet we don't travel as much for that reason as well as gas prices going up and the economy in the shape its in. So what does the government want to do? Raise the gas price by $.20 per gallon to make up the difference. I have a better idea, stop spending money on "fact finding trips" to the galapagoes Islands, and slow down on highway construction and focus on maintaining. Don't raise taxes, don't spend more, lose the porky politicians. And for those of you who are in line waiting for the government to give you yours without any idea where that money comes from, have fun waiting in line.
I'll be at J.C. O'Malleys getting a Diet Pepsi. - See, Insightful and correct again!

Our first blog
Wow!
I can't believe I'm blogging! For those of you who don't know or cant remember. This version of the Broadwater family lives in MO. My wife and I have a little girl and she's our world man. Once I figure out how this works, then more posts will come along and pics maybe even video.
Debbie and I are Christians... however I'm not perfect by a long shot. I have fibbed, and swore, and recently took a drink of Baileys liquer which was the first in two years of anything. We are a conservative family and we have opinions that are most of the time insightful and correct. But we reserve the right to hear what you have to say.... and most of the time a common ground can be reached. - see insightful and correct!
